Christy springs this request for an old Sweeney’s “Sea Shanty” on Andy which results in everyone cracking up!
The banter at the start of this video is an edited version of the original 1980 recording, where after Christy asks “Do you remember how it goes”, Andy goes on at some length to explain how this song was a “Sea Shanty” and that sailors would sing this in unison whilst “Pulling on their Capstans”!!!!!
Donal & Christy found this hilarious and they were obviously in no fit state to continue to play, so to quieten things down, Andy went on to describe how he actually played in The Abbey Tavern, with Sweeney’s Men, and in the middle of a long ballad, Johnny Moynihan leaned over to him and whispered, “Andy, do you know there’s not a single person in the room listening to you”.
He then said that he was “delighted that Sweeney’s Men were popular today (1980) as nobody was interested back in the 60’s.”
After this long introduction, Christy fired back with “OK, Andy, off you go!”, resulting in them all cracking up again!

Old Tom is a dark thick port like Ale / Beer but Wow what a beer!! Another 10/10 from the Real Ale Guide (only the second Ale to achieve this) I gave this beer a top rating because of the amazing way they have managed to balance this Ale, it is % 8.5 ABV but the Alcohol content is balanced so well you really wouldnt think it was that strong. would go well with a steak or chicken meal.

The idea of Lighthouse is to create an attractive and versatile urban area on the harbour front in Århus, Denmarks second largest city. Openness, vividness and multiplicity characterise the winning proposal by 3XN and Dutch office UNStudio in collaboration with urban environment experts Gehl Architects and engineers Grontmij Carl Bro. Instead of the conventional block this project mix a high-rise structure with small groups of terraced houses to ensure smaller community ambiance and safety. Adding an afternoon sun lit seaside promenade with cafés, shops, and a large square for leisure activities, the master plan emphasizes interaction of private, semi-public and public areas, with public access to the view from the Skybar at the top of the tower building. In order to ensure green and quiet walkways between the buildings, motorists are to park in an underground parking facility leaving the area to the residents, and to guest pedestrians and cyclists.
