How to connect my digital camra to my computer as webcam?

I have an Canon powershot A550 but i want to use it for video chatting in yahoo n also regularly (like viewing) if any sotware please mention i will download it

Your camera does not have that feature built in. 98% of digital cameras cannot be used for that purpose. Digital camcorders are more common for that type of dual use.

you can’t. it’s not possible. The best way is to buy a webcam. they’re not that expensive.

It isn’t possible with most camera’s to do that. (unless it says somewhere in your camera manual) .

What I would suggest is too head down to Bestbuy and buy a recommended webcam. They use a good resolution for fast streaming and they are lightweight and fairly in-expensive.

Here is a very nice Logitech Webcam for laptops (if your using a laptop) it’s 40 dollars at best buy. I’d go with that- if you have a laptop.

If your cam has AV output, you can use a AV->USB adapter and http://www.willingsoftware.com
This schema has sense if you need high image quality.
