  2. It would have to be a DSLR. After that it depends onthe price

  3. 30,000 Rupees is not a lot of money for wildlife photography.

Ideally you would want the Nikon D3 for wildlife photography but the Nikon D200, D300 or Canon 50D would work very well.

$630 USD does not leave you with a whole lot of choices. You might look into one of the Pentax dSLRs. Built for the outside and a good value. Perhaps spending the lion share of your cash on a great lens and buying a cheap, used dSLR body is the way to go at this point.

Interesting question. Congratulations, it has been starred.

  4. it has more to do with lens than the camera really. canon, nikon, sony.. to really get a great wild life photo, consider a 200mm or a 300mm lens. Zooms are affordable 500-700$. but for the real deal get a prime 200mm but it will cost you some large pennies.

Lenses do the job not camera.

Better pay attention at the optic rather than . . .

  6. If you are really on a budget and want the best quality for the money, check out the P&S Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 [with a Leica lense and Live View] which has more features than most pro DSLRs that require auxiliary lenses not even equal to the single initial full-range lense that comes with the FZ28. It is reviewed at:

    http://www.steves-digicams.com/2008_reviews/panasonic_fz28_pg5.html

It’s an all-in-one 10.1 megapixel digital camera which includes (i) built-in image stabilization; (ii) HD720 quality video [Quicktime] which permits zooming while videoing skateboarding, action sports; (iii) a 18x zoom [27 - 486 mm (35mm equiv.)] "Leica" lense for nature and concert photography; (iv) up to 0.39 inch macro option; (v) up to 6400 ASA; (vi) takes up to 380 pictures per 120 min. battery charge; (vii) has a "burst speed" of 13 fps; and sells new for $464 at amazon.com. in the U.S.

Here’s an actual handheld picture of the moon:

  7. Panasonic FZ28 10MP 27mm – 486mm (18x) Price: 20000+
    Olympus SP-590 UZ 12MP 26 mm – 676 mm (26x) Price 25000+
    Fuji FinePix S2000HD 10MP 15X zoom Price 14000+

If you want to go for DSLR then DSLR body will cost approx 25000/- + and add another 11000/- for 70-300mm SIGMA lens.
On APS-C sensor body like Canon 1000D 70-300mm will be
    112 – 480mm

I think best option will be Olympus which has great zoom range 26 – 676mm and will be in your budget
