Is it okay to have food bars occassionaly during pregnancy?
I just tried a food bar and i loved it. It was a chocolate one though…its called ZONE – would it unhealthy for me? it has alot of vitamins n stuff..but i am not sure. Thanks.
Yes meal replacement bars are ok to eat while pregnant but watch out for what it contains and don’t eat them every day too much of one thing can result in a bad thing.
If you are taking prenatal vitamins they usually have 100% daily recommended doses of vitamin so the Bars are not necessary plus to much iron can be dangerous for the baby.

I had to look up Zone bars because I never heard of them. A pregnant woman needs about 70g of protein a day, and because protein is a natural appetite supressant, you need to watch how much you are getting at a time, so that you dont end up not eating enough. The Zone bars seem to have the lower ammount of protein than other bars (average around 15g in Zone) so as long as you are eating enough other foods too and getting protein from other sources, eating them in moderation should be ok. Just watch the amount of protein in them, and if it is higher than 15g dont eat it, and look for ones with less.
