Thank you, and i …
Thank you, and i clearly agree about the line, glad you like it.
No offense taken, …
No offense taken, but there is a huge difference between me and Meskereme Bekele and that is His audience are CLEARLY JUST ETHIOPIAN, although he speaks english in his routine it is not AIMED to tackle western civilisation, his routines are basically ETHIOPIAN COMEDY at its best but they alienate the rest of the world. I didn’t just say all those things to get a laugh, its a POLITICAL comment, the image of me on the stage is different from that people have in their heads in the UK.
Why do people seem …
Why do people seem to take the Literal, WATCH THE VIDEO CAREFULLY, my point of view and attitude towards the steriotypical view of ethiopians by western society is CLEAR, I get off everytime people think ethiopians are starving and poor which is why when i am talking about the fammine i say “APPARENTLY” which is the key word because its the Dr’s point of view that i am sketching out (the dr represents western civilisation’s view)
Well there are …
Well there are people who will always take what other people say LITERALLY and there are those that understand the true message, and i am using it for a good purpose i clearly understand that the stand up wont be liked by most ethiopians as it is a very different kind of humour.
Again that is a …
Again that is a sarcastic comment on a social point of view, Belive me that is all that people think ethiopia is and if you watch the video carefully after i make a comment i always either shake my head at it or reply with “well thats the steriotype that you get isnt it”
u know what dude i …
u know what dude i cant denie that it was funny .but to be honest here the sense is to make ur audience laugh am i right or am i ryt? but what really got me and annoyed was that the fact that u are making fun of ethiopia .its a bit disgracefull .ok whalla u are talented you can do more bla bla bla ………. okay big deal let me put it this way you make fun you earn lots of money ,fame and soon but what about decency? you must use your talen for other things
u can see more of …
u can see more of SARCASM STANDUP COMEDY of Meskereme Bekele……. no offense!
”pls give them …
”pls give them some food” ??? what’s up with that? the diaspora just got successful of taking out the name Ethiopia from the dictionaries on the word famine and u r steal preaching there is famine??? c’mon
Don’t misunderstand …
Don’t misunderstand me there my friend……. Im not tryin to insult u ! Im trying to tell u should atleast know ur origins…. u said many people laughed….well believe me i know they will cuz that’s what they have been doin @ us for years….but if u show them that u respect urself, then they surely will respect u….if u have such good talents, then u can use it for good purposes…..u can tell the good things abt ethiopia…….
You say you know me …
You say you know me, but if you did you would realise that i love ethiopia and my family, YOU HAVE NO IDEA what i have gone through with my brother and how many years i have supported him and been with him in hospitals months on end so dont you dare say i am making fun of him, ITS POEOPLE’s steriotypical view of Schitsophrenia that is being made fun of. you say there is nothing funny about it and yet there is a comedy club full of people INCLUDING ETHIOPIANS who were laughing till they cried!!!
Firstly i find it …
Firstly i find it ironic that you rush to insult me, and secondly YOU DONT UNDERSTAND its called SARCASM!!!!! i am not making fun of Ethiopia nor my brother BUT PEOPLE’s VIEW of schitsophrenia and western civilisation’s view of ethiopia, YOU CALL ME A DISGRACE when you dont even understand the point of this stand up, and thirdly STAND UP COMEDY is never PERSONAL, its just COMEDY, unlike you i dont rush to insults (AND READ THE EXPLANATION at the begining)
It’s all good, bro. …
It’s all good, bro. Confident people do joke at themselvs. I think there is a lot to work about our culture. Since our culture is so unique, I think you guys can produce a lot of laughs without crossing the line. What line to cross anyway. Our lowest history is starvation. If you can make people laugh about that, the rest is educational. Keep it up.
There is nothing …
There is nothing funny about this video. I know you back at BCS in Ethiopia and i never thought u would turn out like this…….makin jokes of your mom and bro and even us Ethiopians?!?!?!?! what is that? i’ve seen ur bro once here in addis and believe me it is not worth jokin abt him…….
