Do you know any English examples of a public house licence being revoked?
i.e. the pub closed down or the licensee removed because of a specific incident or general trouble?
What constitutes too much trouble? I have known pubs remain open even one of the customers was murdered in the bar.
That is rather than the licencee found to have lied about his lack of criminal convictions etc.
Selling to underage drinkers results in licenses revoked, that just means the licensee gets kicked out and the brewery have to find another to get relicensed pretty quickly. One of our local pubs had the license revoked because of constant fighting, drug dealing etc. the pub was shut down and reopened a few weeks later with a new licensee. Licencing is at the discretion of the local police licencing officer, so if you have one that is particularly hot on under age drinking/fighting/drug dealing etc. you are going to get firmer decsions about the license.
I’m almost sure a club in Blackpool was closed down cos of trouble with drugs. It has since re-opened though

A licensee near us was supposed to be having her licence reconsidered because she was serving people on the ‘pub watch’ list ie troublemakers, fight starters perpetual drunks etc. But i dont think she lost it, the pub was still open when i passed the other night.
But i do know one who lost it cos her husband had a conviction and the licence was only in her name anyway.

Every time the police are called to a pub or club its recorded and brought up at the next license hearing
