A story of unrequited love set in 1930s London, against the backdrop of grimy streets and public houses. Revolving around The Midnight Bell, a public house off the Euston Road, it follows the painful pursuit of love from three different perspectives. Barman Bob (Bryan Dick), who yearns for penniless street-walker Jenny (Zoe Tapper). Bob’s colleague Ella (Sally Hawkins), who is torn between the desire for her barman workmate.

that is true, but take it from an englishman, sometimes english women can seem a little too real. But ill agree US tv is so massively glossed over and ‘average’ looking people dont seem to exist.

I love the women on British TV/film. They look more like average women, and they wear less makeup than women on USA TV/film. Women on British TV look like normal everyday women – like the men tend to look on either UK or USA TV/film.
