Real Ale Guide’s Old Tom
Old Tom is a dark thick port like Ale / Beer but Wow what a beer!! Another 10/10 from the Real Ale Guide (only the second Ale to achieve this) I gave this beer a top rating because of the amazing way they have managed to balance this Ale, it is % 8.5 ABV but the Alcohol content is balanced so well you really wouldnt think it was that strong. would go well with a steak or chicken meal.

hey Chad hows it …
hey Chad hows it going, the British language and American language is slightly different for example, we call them chips you call them fries, over here in the UK a lot of people i know describe Beers / Ale’s as being thick or light, Cheers!!
@TheMasterOfHoppets …
@TheMasterOfHoppets Hey hows it going, i have seen the Ginger and Chocolate versions online but never anywhere in the store’s, i could order it online. Lovely beer though the Old Tom, i was expecting the Alcohol taste to be so much stronger than it was. Cheers!!
the related videos …
the related videos tab has a lot of unrelated videos I’d say, LOL –>
I find “thick” and “thin” are no entirely applicable words to describe beer. I’d say most beer has the same viscosity. It’s more about mouthfeel whether it FEELS thick or thin combined with the flavor (robust or mild).
That’s a pretty huge wine glass!
I’m not quite sure it’s the world’s best ale if I’ve never even heard of it. Every beer claims to be the best or uses the most “premium” ingredients.
thanks for the shout-out
Great review Simon! …
Great review Simon! This is one of my favorite English ales it is lovely!! I should review this one some time. Do you get the Chocoloate and the Ginger versions of Old Tom? I have had both, and like the chocolate the most, but still i prefer the regular Tom. Cheers!
