Defendant J bragged in a tavern to another man how he would pick up prostitutes, pay them for sex, and then la?

Defendant J bragged in a tavern to another man how he would pick up prostitutes, pay them for sex, and then later kill them, take their money and bury the bodies. The man reported J’s statements to a police officer and agreed to cooperate with the police. Three bodies and other evidence were obtained to corroborate J’s statements. J was arrested and charged with three murders, kidnappings, and robberies. Can the witness testify as to J’s statements in the tavern? Why or why not

Of course he can. the statements were freely given and there was no entrapment, Also as they were directly from the defendant they would not be hearsay.

  2. yes it can be used…the man is a witness so to speak. The only way it would be hearsay is if J was dead and if he isnt then his ass is nailed to the wall. Is this a true story…What if the man was the killer and set j up…hmm think about it
