Why are there so many bars and taverns in Portland OR?

Could this have anything to do with the suicide rate???

Maybe because the weather kinda sucks. Sorry Portland, but it rains so much there. All that depressing rain might cause me to drink too much and kill myself. JK. The brewing industry is big there so the bars are probably just a result of a concentration of that industry.

  1. because it’s a party town. Heavy alcohol consumption coupled with lack of sunshine, probably contributes to suicide rate.
